My mother is a New Yorker, from an English family, when she was 24, she came to Italy on vacation, met my Roman 'future' father, they fell in love, at the end of the vacation she went back home to NYC. After a little time he reached her, they got married and stayed there for several years.

When she was pregnant of me, they decided to make me born in Rome, because my father wanted me to be Roman. They moved to Italy and, but a few journeys to and from NYC, they have stayed here in Rome since that time.

My mum hasn't come back to her beloved own town for a long time... she still misses her, she misses her own country a lot.

She’s an old fashion American lady. When, some Christmases ago, I presented her with the US flag, she held it tight to her heart, crying and whispering: “ My own flag…” Too much time far from her town... so...

Last Christmas I decided and secretly prepared everything to present her with this...'sentimental journey'...

This journey was all devoted to her...and also to me, looking for half of my roots but...

Since she knows I'm fond of Russell Crowe, I love and admire him as a most brilliant actor, terrific song writer and singer, deep and profound human being, great son, husband and father, most honourable man...

A day was for me...So, on 7th April, Russell's Birthday, we went to Princeton University on purpose to...celebrate him!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND ANNIVERSARY DEAREST RUSSELL!!!

My mum and I had a great fun, Princeton University is a wonderful place from the architectural point of view, a very important university, one of the oldest in US, people are very nice and helpful.

Some kind students helped me to find some of the locations where A Beautiful mind was filmed.

I didn’t meet Prof. Nash, even if I wanted to when I was planning to go to Princeton University, but I decided against bothering him.

From some nice students I talked to, I know he’s not teaching but always going to the Mathematic department, he’s a very nice person and I’ve been told that once, his pc collapsed, a student went to fix it and Prof. Nash was really nice and kind.

Funny was the look on my mum's face, staring at me, 'cause I was going in around as a kid at the amusement park, armed by video and photo-camera, looking for and recognizing the locations, performing all the cues from the movie by heart. I was really excited, I love cinema, as a hobby I also study many movie books.

I love most A beautiful mind, I think it's one of the best movies in Cinema history, I love and admire Mr. Ron Howard, he's a brilliant director, story teller, camera poet... Mr. Akiva Goldsman: one of the best screen writers, Brian Grazer: exceptional producer, James Horner: not music... poetry, last but not least: terrific performers as Mr. Ed Harris, Mr. Paul Bettany, Mrs. Jennifer Connelly and a great Russell Crowe, deserving a second Oscar...
